Sometimes it is better to lose a little in order to gain after a round of golf. Such was the circumstance for Francois at St. Andrews. Instead of doubling the bet on the 18th hole, which would have allowed him to win a small amount of money, he played the hole for the existing bet and ended up losing one small bet after winning the hole. Tradition dictates that the winner of a round of golf treats his opponent to drinks after the round. Since Francois insists his martini be prepared with only the best vodka, and he and his opponents had only wagered a gentlemanly sum for the match, Francois and his partner came out the winners by a long shot.
